A Chinese team delivers medical services to children in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, May 30, 2023 (FBC) – A Chinese medical team has provided free health check-ups and health services to children at Zewditu Meshesha Children and Family Charity’s Development Association premises in Addis Ababa.

Some 80 children have received the health care services provided by the Chinese team. Apart from the service, the team has provided educational materials and food items to the children in the center.

The service delivery has been carried out in collaboration between the First Lady Offices of the government of Ethiopia and China.

Ambassador of China to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan, stated on the occasion, that the medical team will provide full checkup and treatment services to the children identified, and conduct immediate medical interventions if necessary.

“If cure is no possible through the ongoing services, patients will be taken to China for further treatments,” he said.

The ambassador reiterated China’s commitment to further enhance its multifaceted cooperation with Ethiopia.

Minister of State for Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma, on his part, stated that St. Peter Hospitalized Hospital will work in collaboration with the Chinese medical team which is currently in Addis Ababa.
