Ethiopia reports 1,368 new COVID 19 cases

Addis Ababa, August 23, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia yesterday reported 1,368 COVID 19 cases, taking the total confirmed cases to 39,033.

According to the daily report of the Ministry of Health, the new cases were identified out of the 19,776 samples taken in 24 hours.

The country also registered 25 deaths from the virus to bring the overall death toll to 662.

Some 567 patients have recovered from the virus, pushing the total number of recoveries to 14,480.

There are now 23,889 active cases, of which 251 are in a severe condition. The country has so far conducted 736, 904 laboratory tests.
