Ethiopia reports 1,460 new COVID 19 cases

Addis Ababa, August 18, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia yesterday registered 1,460 new COVID 19 cases from 19, 747 laboratory tests conducted in 24 hours, taking the overall confirmed cases to 31, 336.

The country also reported 16 COVID19-related deaths, bringing the death toll to 544.

Another 165 patients have recovered from the virus to take the total number of recoveries to 12, 524.

There are now 18, 266 active cases , of which 213 are in a severe condition. The country has so far conducted 629, 210 laboratory tests.
