China’s Sichuan Lihong Construction Group expresses strong interest in expanding its operation in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, January 11, 2025 (FMC) – Sichuan Lihong Construction Group Co., Ltd., a Chinese construction, mineral exploration, and processing and mining machinery manufacturing firm has expressed strong interest in expanding its presence in Ethiopia.

The company’s desire to expand its businesses in the East African nation was disclosed during a meeting between Chief Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission Zeleke Temesgen (PhD), and representatives of the company.

During the meeting, the EIC Chief Commissioner said that the government of Ethiopian is committed and always ready to provide all the necessary support for the private investment sector.

He also highlighted that Ethiopia is endowed with numerous investment opportunities in various sectors that foreign companies can engage and make lucrative investment.

Chairman of Sichuan Lihong Construction Group, Mr. Li Shiming, on his part, expressed a strong interest of the Company in expanding its operation in Ethiopia.

He further stated that the Company’s engagement in Ethiopia will have of significant contribution for the mining industry and the dynamic private sector community, as per the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC).
