Delegation of Chinese Justice Ministry set to visit Ethiopia next month

Addis Ababa, January 10, 2025 (FMC) – Ambassador Tefera Derbew recently engaged in a constructive dialogue with Mr. Yuan Liang, the Head of the International Cooperation Department at China’s Ministry of Justice.

The meeting emphasized the deep-rooted bilateral ties between Ethiopia and China, highlighting their strategic partnership characterized by mutual support across various sectors.

Ambassador Tefera pointed out the broad spectrum of collaboration, which encompasses cultural exchange, investment opportunities, trade, and tourism initiatives.

In response, Mr. Yuan Liang praised the strong cooperation between the two nations and announced that He Rong, China’s Minister of Justice, will conduct a working visit to Ethiopia in mid-February 2025. During her trip, she plans to engage in discussions and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation with her Ethiopian counterpart.

Ambassador Tefera assured support from the Embassy to ensure a successful visit for Minister He Rong and her delegation, signifying another important milestone in the evolving partnership between Ethiopia and China.
