Kenyan military chief lauds Ethiopian defense industry facilities
Addis Ababa, November 28, 2024 (FBC) – Chief of the Defence Forces of Kenya General Charles Muriu Kahariri visited various facilities of the Ethiopian National Armed Forces (ENDF) in Bishoftu town.
During his visit, he toured the Ethiopian Defense University, Gafat Armament Engineering Complex, Bishoftu Automotive Manufacturing Industry and the Ethiopian Air Force Base.
On the occasion, General Charles Kahariri recalled that Ethiopia and Kenya are two sisterly countries with a long history of diplomatic relations, adding that the two countries have also enjoyed strong ties in the field of military diplomacy over the years.
Noting that the two countries share a long border, General Charles Kahariri mentioned that both sides are working closely to maintain peace and security by countering transboundary terrorism.
He went on to commend the outstanding activities he observed at the Ethiopian defense industry facilities.
It was also indicated that General Charles Kahariri has met and held a discussion with his Ethiopian counterpart Field Marshal General Berhanu Jula on Wednesday.
The Kenyan defense forces chief is in Ethiopia to attend the second African Air Force Forum which was held on Wednesday in Bishoftu town, marking of the 89th anniversary of Ethiopian Air Force.
