Ethiopia, Italy emphasize the need to explore dev’t cooperation agreement in a new spirit
Addis Ababa, November 27, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, this morning received at his office, the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Giorgio Silli.
Ambassador Mesganu stated that Italy is Ethiopia’s key partner, and that Ethiopia appreciates Italy for its strong participation in development cooperation and infrastructure development.
He stated that there is a strong relationship at the level of the leaders. He said that the visit being conducted by the Undersecretary of State will provide an opportunity to expand the horizons of cooperation between the two countries and provide new directions.
Ambassador Mesganu further pointed out that Italy’s Mattei Plan to strengthen the private sub-economy in Africa will not only benefit Ethiopia’s private sub-economy, but also serve as an example for others.
Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giorgio Silli, also stated that Ethiopia has become a focal country for the Italian Government.
The Undersecretary of State said that his country is committed to expanding its comprehensive cooperation with Ethiopia.
In their discussion, the dignitaries agreed that the development cooperation agreement between the two countries needs to be explored in a new spirit.
