President Lula of Brazil vows to enhance multifaceted diplomatic relations with Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, November 15, 2024 (FBC) – The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Federative Republic of Brazil, Leulseged Tadesse, presented his Letter of Credence to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Leulseged expressed to the President that it is Ethiopia’s desire to elevate the bilateral relationship to a higher level of strategic partnership by strengthening the long-term and historical friendship in the fields of investment, trade, tourism and agriculture.
He also briefed President Lula da Silva on the raft of macroeconomic reforms and food security initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
Through the BRICS platform, Ambassador Leulseged noted, Ethiopia and Brazil will have the opportunity to strengthen their ties in the business sector.
He also expressed Ethiopia’s readiness to strengthen cooperation by working closely in the reform of international institutions and in the execution of common agendas, especially in the expansion of the United Nations Security Council, gathering development finance, eradicating poverty and hunger and preventing climate change.
President Lula da Silva, welcoming the ambassador, expressed his gratitude to PM Abiy for the warm reception accorded to him during his recent visit to Ethiopia and vowed to enhance multifaceted diplomatic relations between the two countries particularly, in the economic field, notably agriculture.
