Ethiopian, Moroccan Police Forces Keen to Forge Collaboration

Addis Ababa, October 12, 2024 (FBC) – A High-level representatives from the Ethiopian and Moroccan police forces convened for a meeting to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.

Deputy Commissioner General Melaku Fanta, the head of the Crime Prevention Department at the Federal Police of Ethiopia, engaged in discussions with Farah Boulhatah, Morocco’s Deputy Director General of State Control and Director of National Police Intelligence.

The discussion of the officials focused on identifying areas where their respective institutions could work together to address shared security challenges, according to ENA.

They also discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the two police institutions, focusing on preventing cross-border crimes, terrorism and exploring opportunities for joint operations.

The Moroccan delegation praised the Ethiopian Federal Police’s modern police service and advanced technologies.

They expressed a desire to strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two countries through increased police collaboration.

Recall that in July 2024 Ethiopia and Morocco have taken significant steps to bolster their military cooperation, reaffirming a longstanding relationship and laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
