Germany’s special envoy for HoA praises Ethiopia’s integral role for regional security

Addis Ababa, October 1, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga received at his office today Mr. Heiko Nitzschke, Germany’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa.

Their discussion covered key issues affecting the Horn of Africa and matters of mutual interest in the region, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

During the course of their conversation, the State Minister emphasized Ethiopia’s vital role in promoting peace and stability in the region.

He further reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to advancing collaborative efforts that foster development, security, and prosperity in the Horn of Africa. State Minister Mesganu applauded Germany’s significance as a strategic partner, highlighting the growing bilateral relations between the two countries.

For his part, Mr. Heiko Nitzschke noted that the stability of the Horn of Africa can be maintained through unity. He further emphasized Ethiopia’s critical role in ensuring the region’s security.
