Ethiopian Electric Power ready to encourage E-vehicles investors – CEO
Addis Ababa, September 24, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) has announced that it will encourage manufacturers of electric vehicles.
Belayneh Kinde Group (BKG) has delivered electric buses to the Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) today.
On the occasion, CEO of Ethiopian Electric Power, Ashebr Balcha, stated that efforts are being made to encourage manufacturers engaged in the sector.
The owner of BKG, Mr. Belayneh Kinde, said that his company is engaged in the automotive assembly and food processing sectors.
He explained that BKG has been stamping its mark in the country by assembling electric vehicles since last year.
Mr. Belayneh pointed out that the start of using the electric vehicles by the Ethiopian Electric Power will create an opportunity for other institutions and individuals to have confidence in the E-vehicles assembled by his company.
He also mentioned that the vehicles’ battery will last for 15 years and confirmed that the company will provide an 8-year warranty for the battery and a 5-year warranty for the motor.
