Dialogue Commission commences agenda gathering consultations in Central Ethiopia region
Addis Ababa, August 31, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) has kicked off its agenda gathering process in the Central Ethiopia Region today, marking a significant step towards fostering national unity and addressing long-standing issues.
Commissioner of ENDC Yonas Adaye has expressed his belief that the consultation will be successful as it will create an opportunity for all Ethiopians to lodge their problems and suggest solutions.
He said that the complex challenges that the country is facing should be addressed and solved through consultations.
Yonas emphasized that the participants of the consultation are expected to contribute to the success of the consultation process based on inclusiveness, openness, participation and credibility.
In that regard, he said that the agenda gathering event, in which more than 1,700 representatives and stakeholders from different sections of the society will participate, will last for 6 consecutive days.
The agenda-gathering phase will encompass a wide range of stakeholders, including political parties, religious institutions, civic associations, influential individuals, and various organizations within the region.
The National Dialogue Commission’s efforts in Central Ethiopia represent a critical juncture in the nation’s journey towards reconciliation and progress. As the process unfolds, it is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Ethiopia’s path to a more unified and prosperous future.
