Political parties deliberating on various national, mutual issues

Addis Ababa, July 21, 2024 (FBC) Ethiopian political parties are advising on various national and issues of common interest.

Head of the Democracy Building Coordination Centre at the rank of Deputy Prime Minister,  Adem Farah and Chairman of Ethiopian Political Parties Joint Council, Desta Dinka, in tandem with several members and leaders of political parties attended the forum.

In his remarks at the forum, Mr Adem Farah said the forum will continue as per the announcement which was made so far by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) during his meeting with political parties.

He pointed out that the platform is focused on national and the common issues of political parties and serves as a platform to identify the agenda for the next major forum. 

The Chairman of the Council, Desta Dinka, also noted that key agendas have been raised that have been summarized in previous discussions at regional level.

The agendas focus on establishment of a framework for cooperation by the government and political parties, and by the contesting and the ruling party, the expansion of the political landscape, peace and security and the Inclusive National Dialogue, among others.

He said that the discussion on these and related topics will continue.
