A Safety Net Project to engage 400 youths in pilot run
Addis Ababa, May 19, 2020 (FBC) – Federal Urban Job Creation and Food Security Agency has announced a plan to involve 400 youths in a pilot Safety Net Job Creation program.
The agency has finalized preparations to embrace the 400 youths in a pilot run prior to its major phase of plan execution which is set to benefit a total of 100,000 youths through income generating schemes.
The agency has appropriated 500 USD for the implementation of the Youth Safety Net program which is mainly intended to create job opportunities to youths who quitted schools from 8 to 12 grades without leave certificates.
The project is to be implemented in partnership with Addis Ababa City Administration and Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce, Debebe Barud, Head of Urban Development Safety Net Project Office at the agency said.
The project is developed in line with making beneficiary youth competent operators of enterprises and manufacturing industries, it is indicated.
