PM Abiy says Ethiopia pays considerable attention for domestic production of medical supplies and medicines

Addis Ababa, June 22, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has presided over an opening ceremony of the Local Medical Product Manufacturing and Innovation Exhibition taking place in Addis Ababa.

In his remarks at the exhibition, Prime Minister Abiy noted that considerable attention has been directed towards the sector, beginning with policy reforms aimed at the domestic production of medical supplies and medicines.

For Ethiopia, with a population exceeding 120 million, producing its own medicines is an urgent priority, the Prime Minister underscored.

The exhibition that will run for six consecutive days has brought together more than 110 manufacturers.
