Oromia Regional State launches 150km mega road project

Addis Ababa, June 22, 2024 (FBC) – Oromia Regional State has launched a 150km mega road project, the first in its kind in Ethiopia, in Kura Jida Sub City of Sheger City.

The road project to be completed within 5 years is said to connect all sub cities in Sheger City.

The first phase of the road project which starts from Kura Jida will be constructed with 4.5 billion birr. And this project create a highway network between Taffo, Koye Feche and Gelan sub cities of Sheger City, Oromia Regional State.

President of the Oromia Regional State, Shimelis Abdisa, Head of Roads and Logistics Bureau of Oromia Regional State, Helen Tamiru, Mayor of Sheger City, Teshome Adugna (PhD) along with other high regional officials have attended the launching ceremony.
