Tourism sector companies in UAE briefed on attraction sites in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 14, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Consulate in Dubai and Northern Emirates in collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines Dubai office hosted a roundtable discussion on tourism opportunities in Ethiopia.

Over 15 companies in the tourism sector actively engaged in the event, aiming to spotlight the abundant tourism prospects in Ethiopia.

The discussion sought to establish a platform for well-known tour operators in the United Arab Emirates to integrate Ethiopia into their tour packages.

During the event, Consul General Ambassador Aklilu Kebede emphasized Ethiopia’s rich natural, historical and cultural attractions, inviting tour operators to capitalize on this opportunity.

Asmelash Bekele, Head of the Economic Diplomacy Department at the Consulate General, gave presentation on newly developed tourist destinations and supportive government policies.

Solomon Begashaw, Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines Dubai office, elaborated on services and packages, including ET Holiday, available to customers.

In conclusion, representatives from the Ethiopian Consulate and Ethiopian Airlines Dubai office, along with stakeholders, discussed plans for a Familiarization Trip aimed at showcasing Ethiopia’s tourism attractions and fostering investment.

They underscored their commitment to maximizing Ethiopia’s tourism potential and expressed readiness to collaborate with other stakeholders in advancing these efforts.
