Ethiopia, Russia discuss cooperation in the UNSC and BRICS+

Addis Ababa, June 10, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian Foreign Minister Taye Atske-Selassie and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov met in Nizhny Belgorod to discuss the bilateral relations between their countries in the UN Security Council and BRICS.

The discussion held on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade, economy, science, technology and humanitarian affairs.

Both countries expressed their commitment to deepening political dialogue and aligning their approaches in the UN and BRICS, especially during Russia’s chairmanship in BRICS.

The meeting also involved a confidential exchange of views on cooperation in international organizations, Sputnik reported citing Russian Foreign Ministry.
