Deputy PM Temesgen visits Alat Free Economic Zone in Azerbaijan
Addis Ababa, May 16, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Temesgen Truneh visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ), one of Azerbaijan’s major economic programs, Ethiopian Embassy in Ankara stated.
The Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) is Azerbaijan’s first economic zone dedicated for export trade, import substitution and value added manufacturing products.
The deputy premier said that during the visit we have shared very important experiences from the Free Economic Zone, which is called the ‘investment hub’ of the region beyond Azerbaijan.
“By strengthening our relationship and adopting best practices, Ethiopia will exert efforts to achieve the country’s expectations in the sector,” Temesgen added.
A delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen is in Azerbaijan for a working visit.
The deputy PM had fruitful discussion with the Interior Minister of Azerbaijan, colonel-general Eyvazov Vilayat Suleyman.
Mr. Temesgen visited the ASAN Service Center in Baku, Azerbaijan, where government services are provided digitally in a centralized manner.
During the visit, Temesgen met with Ulvi Mehdiyev, the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAPSSI).
