Ethiopian Diaspora urged to maintain contribution for GERD

Addis Ababa, April 4, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian diaspora community has been urged to further strengthen its contribution to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

The Ethiopian Diaspora Association held discussion today with various government entities with a view to scaling up the participation of the diaspora in the national agendas of the country.

During the occasion Director General for the Office of the National Coordination for the Construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Aregawi Berhe said that construction of GERD has reached over 95 percent.

The director general recalled that the participation of the diaspora in GERD’s milestones in purchasing bonds, and diplomacy and other areas is very significant and urged members of the diaspora to further strengthen their contribution.

Representatives from Ethiopian Investment Commission and the Ethiopian Diaspora Service and other public offices took part in the discussion.
