Public consultations have the power to address pressing nat’l issues – Japanese envoy

Addis Ababa, April 2, 2024 (FBC) – The Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Shibata Hironori, expressed that the public consultations facilitated by the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (NDC) hold promise in addressing the country’s pressing issues.

This assertion was put forth by the Japanese diplomat during his cordial meeting with the Chief Commissioner of the NDC, Mesfin Araya, in Addis Ababa.

During their conversation, the Chief Commissioner elaborated on the Commission’s accomplishments to date, its forthcoming endeavors, and the present status of the Commission.

Ambassador Shibata expressed gratitude to the Chief Commissioner for the informative briefing and conveyed his appreciation for the ongoing efforts of the NDC.

The Japanese envoy maintained the belief that the inclusive and collective consultations facilitated by the commission possess the capacity to address national challenges effectively.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to enhancing its support towards ensuring the success of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission’s initiatives.
