PM confers with chair of Sudan’s sovereign council

Addis Ababa, May 11, 2020 (FBC) –  Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed conferred with Chairperson of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, Lt. General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan via telephone on economic and regional matters.

In a statement posted on face book, Prime Minister Dr. Abiy noted that the two had a good phone discussion focused on exchanging ideas on various issues.

The Premier said “we exchanged ideas on strengthening economic ties between our two countries and enduring regional peace and security.”

It is to be recalled that Sudan’s main alliance of opposition groups and protesters had accepted Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed as a mediator in their political deadlock with the Transitional Military Council (TMC) on June 2019.
