PM Abiy visit to Kenya, Tanzania fruitful in advancing engagements: MoFA
Addis Ababa, March 7, 2024 (FBC) – The recent visit of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) to Kenya and Tanzania proved fruitful in advancing Ethiopia’s interests in the energy and aviation sector, Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Meles Alem said.
The Spokesperson made the remarks during his delivery of the weekly press briefing of the ministry today.
According to the ambassador, the warm welcome accorded to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed during his visits to Kenya and Tanzania as well as the subsequent Memorandums of Understanding inked are evidence of healthy relationships between the countries and growing interests to strengthen ties.
In connection to that, Ambassador Meles stated that the prime minister’s visit to the stated two countries demonstrated that several attempts to impede Ethiopia’s positive role in the region has failed.
The briefing also highlighted various diplomatic endeavors of the ministry, including the celebration of the 128th Adwa Victory Day, Ethiopia’s participation in the Dubai International Horticultural Expo and the WTO meeting in the UAE.
