MoFA launches a yearbook documenting three years of Ethiopia’s diplomatic activities

Addis Ababa, January 12, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has published a yearbook documenting its activities, which is said to be the first attempt since its inception in 1907.

Ambassador Meles Alem, Spokesperson of the Ministry handed over a copy of the book to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen at the official launch of the book.

Speaking at the book launch ceremony today at the Science Museum, Demeke Mekonnen praised the efforts put into preparing the book, which he said would set an example for the future.

The book is said to be of use for diplomats, researchers, and all those interested in examining the Foreign Ministry’s primary mission over the last three years.

The book details the Ministry’s diplomatic activities from November 2020 to June 2023, with a focus on speeches, letters, briefings, and news stories involving the activities of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen.

The yearbook, divided into eleven sections, covers the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ diplomatic activities in advancing Ethiopia’s interests in regional and multilateral forums, as well as bilateral and multilateral relations.
