Russia, Ethiopia keen on stepping up cooperation

Addis Ababa, November 16, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, conferred with Evgeny Terekhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ethiopia, today at his office.

The two sides noted the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral forums, further discussing the upcoming Russia-Africa Summit.

Ambassador Mesganu also called for the support of the government of the Russian Federation in Ethiopia’s efforts to ensure food security through its promising agricultural activities.

He also pointed out Ethiopia’s keen interest in drawing Russian investment for a joint venture to establish a fertilizer production plant in Ethiopia.

Ambassador Evgeny affirmed his country’s commitment to work together with the Government of Ethiopia on both bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
