Nile Basin countries asked to deepen cooperation for proper use of shared resources
Addis Ababa, November 2, 2023 (FBC) – Nile Basin member countries should strengthen their cooperation in order to properly use shared resources, according to Demeke Mekonnen, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
Deputy PM & FM Demeke said that while holding a discussion with the Speaker of South Sudan’s Transitional National Legislative Assembly, Ms. Jemma Nunu Kumba, in Juba.
He also said that Ethiopia has made a commitment to facilitate infrastructure projects that will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
In addition to strengthening economic ties, the speaker highlighted the significance of linking Ethiopia and South Sudan through infrastructure.
Mr. Demeke has returned to Addis Ababa last night after concluding his two-day official visit in Juba, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
