Kacha Digital Financial Services officially goes live
Addis Ababa, October 20, 2023 (FBC) – Kacha Digital Financial Services, a local private mobile money service provider, has officially launched its service as a private payment document issuer.
Dubbed as a pioneer of the field in the country, Kacha is a payment instrument issuer licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia. Its digital platform offers mobile money, bill payments, remittances, and merchant payments, making financial services accessible to all Ethiopians at different levels and options.
It is indicated that Kacha has been testing its services with short codes as well as Android and IOS applications until today’s official launching.
At the launching ceremony, the Minister of State for Innovation and Technology, Ms. Huria Ali, said that services such as Kacha are inclusive, innovative and reliable, and that their inclusion in the national financial systems is important to realize the Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy.
Participants who attended the unveiling event acknowledged that the application provides financial services to users conveniently and seamlessly.
Kacha Board Chairman Mr. Teshome Beyene, for his part, said that the platform aims to provide safe and financially inclusive digital banking services to customers through advanced technology.
At the inaugural ceremony, Kacha signed cooperation agreements with various [local] banks, microfinance institutions, and other strategic partners, it is indicated.
