PM Abiy Ahmed extends Irreechaa best wishes
Addis Ababa, October 6, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) extended his best wishes on the occasion of Irreechaa festival.
Irreechaa, the Thanksgiving Day of the Oromo people, is annually celebrated to mark the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the harvesting season.
This year’s Irreechaa festival, Hora Finfinne and Hora Harsade, celebration will be held in Addis Ababa and Bishoftu town during the weekend, respectively.
In his message, the Prime Minister reminded that Irreechaa is a festival of peace and reconciliation.
PM Abiy noted that Irreecchaa is also a festival of justice, equality, love and unity that demonstrates fraternity and solidarity among the people.
We should, therefore, work hard to do away with obstacles and make tomorrow brighter, he stressed.
PM Abiy further called for avoiding hatred and upholding unity and fraternity.
Ethiopians should work hard together around our common values and cultures to make the future better by joining hands, he urged.
