EDRMC says humanitarian aid being made to mitigate impacts of drought
Addis Ababa, September 24, 2016 (FBC) – Humanitarian relief works are being carried out in various parts of Ethiopia to mitigate the impacts of drought, Chief Commissioner of Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission Ambassador Shiferaw Teklemariam said.
The commissioner said that works are being carried out in areas impacted by drought in Amhara and Tigray regions, in particular.
Some 4.6 billion birr-worth of assistance was delivered in-kind and in-cash transfer to 7.2 million citizens in need of humanitarian aid this week, the Chief Commissioner of EDRMC said.
The drought response requires the efforts of our society and government structures at all levels.
