MoH, UNFPA agree to enhance emergency response in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, October 4, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Health (MoH) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have reached an agreement to enhance emergency and humanitarian response in Ethiopia.
Both sides have concurred on scaling up the emergency response activities during a discussion between Minister of State for Health, Dr. Dereje Dhuguma, UNFPA Humanitarian Division Director, Shoko Arakaki, as well as UNFPA Resident Representative to Ethiopia, Koffi Kouame on Tuesday.
During the discussion, they also further agreed to advance the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research (SRH) agenda in Ethiopia, the Minister of State Dr. Dereje confirmed in a post on X.
For her part, Ms. Shoko Arakaki, UNFPA Humanitarian Division Director, appreciated Ethiopia-UNFPA strong partnership to advance the SRH agenda and improve the health of women, youth, and newborns in Ethiopia.
