2nd round of trilateral talks on GERD wraps up in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, September 24, 2023 (FBC) – The two days trilateral negotiation on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has concluded this evening.

Recall that the second round of the tripartite negotiation among Ethiopia, Egypt, and Sudan on the first filling and annual operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has commenced on September 23, 2023, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Following the conclusion of the Addis Ababa leg of the trilateral meeting, head of Ethiopian negotiating team, Ambassador Seleshi Bekele, stated that the parties have exchanged constructive ideas on various outstanding issues with a view to bridge the differences among the parties.

In a post on X, Ambassador Seleshi noted that Ethiopia reiterates it’s commitment to continue negotiating in good faith.
