BDFC secures a vital 2-0 victory over Tunisian side Club Africain in CAFCC
Addis Ababa, September 17, 2023 (FBC) – Bahir Dar City Football Club claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Tunisian giants Club Africain in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers.
Bahir Dar City FC, also known as The Waves of Tana, have beaten the Tunisian club at home this afternoon thanks to a brace from Habtamu Taddese.
The striker gave his side the lead right on the stroke of half-time and he netted the second goal in the dying seconds of second half of the match.
The return leg of this match will be played in Tunisia a few days later, and either of them with a better aggregate score will go through to the group stages of Total Energies CAF Confederations Cup.
Previously, Bahir Dar City FC have advanced to the second round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup after a 4-3 penalty victory over Azam FC of Tanzania in the first preliminary round following a 3-3 aggregate score of the two legs.
