China’s Ministry of Public Security pledges support for Ethiopian Federal Police

Addis Ababa, September 14, 2023 (FBC) – China’s Ministry of Public Security pledged to provide support that will enhance Ethiopian Federal Police’s capacity in the forensic investigation sector.

Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner General, Demelash Gebremichael discussed with a Chinese delegation led by Commissioner Zhaoui Zhou, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Bureau of China’s Ministry of Public Security.

The two sides discussed on ways of strengthening the agreement signed between the Ministry of Public Security of China and the Federal Police of Ethiopia on July 10, 2023.

According to the agreement that was signed so far, the Ministry of Public Security of China will support the Forensic Excellence Center being built at the Ethiopian Police University with resources and training that would help enhance the forensic capacity of the Ethiopian Federal Police.

The Chinese delegation has also visited the Federal Police Criminal Investigation Headquarters and the Forensic Investigation Center, according to the Ethiopian Federal Police.
