Japan FM Yoshimasa Hayashi due in Ethiopia for working visit

Addis Ababa, July 31, 2023 (FBC) – The Foreign Minister of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi is set to visit Ethiopia this week, the Japanese Foreign Ministry confirmed.

According to the Embassy of Japan in Ethiopia, HAYASHI Yoshimasa has started his tour in Africa today.

After his tour to South Africa and Uganda, the Japanese Foreign Minister is scheduled to arrive in Addis Ababa as his final destination for his tour to South Asia and Africa. He is also expected to hold meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen on 3 August.

It is noted that this will be the first visit to Ethiopia by a Japanese foreign minister in 4 years.
