Botswana ready to learn from Ethiopia’s experience in aviation, horticulture – President Masisi
Addis Ababa, June 22, 2023 (FBC) – Muktar Kedir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Botswana, with residency in South Africa, presented his credentials to Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, the President of the Republic of Botswana.
Ambassador Muktar reaffirmed his commitment to work hard to strengthen the long-standing Ethio-Botswana bilateral relations in comprehensive cooperation areas, according to the Ethiopian Embassy in Pretoria.
The Ambassador also pointed out that Ethiopia wishes to learn from Botswana’s rich experience in sustainable peace and democracy as well as in animal and mineral resources management, trade, and tourism sectors.
Amb. Muktar added that he affirmed his readiness to bolster the growing relationship between the two countries through regional trade integration and to make more use of the resources.
While receiving the Ethiopian envoy, President Masisi said that he is confident that Amb. Muktar’s accumulation of high political leadership experience will be paramount to bolster the long-standing friendship with Ethiopia and Botswana, reminding Ethiopia’s unprecedented contribution to Pan-Africanism and the freedom and unity of Africa.
The President underlined that Botswana is ready to learn from Ethiopia’s experience in aviation, leather industry, and horticulture, mentioning his commitment to cooperate with the East African nation in other sectors.
He assured the Ethiopian Ambassador that all stakeholders in Botswana will provide the necessary cooperation to make the Ambassador’s stay effective.
It is to be recalled that Ambassador Muktar has met yesterday with Botswana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Lemogang Kwape and Chief of Protocol Benetia Chingapane.
