Chief administrator of Harari region meets with Ambassador of Turkiye to Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, June 21, 2023 (FBC) – The chief administrator of Harari Region, Ordin Bedri, met and held a discussion today with the Turkish Ambassador to Ethiopia Berk Baran..
The regional administrator thanked Turkiye for its support to Ethiopia in education, health, social development, and tourism sectors.
Ordin said that Harar city is home to UNESCO-inscribed international heritage sites, including the Jugal buildings.
According to the regional government communication office, Ordin emphasized that Harar is a city where people of diverse cultures and beliefs live in peace, love and tolerance.
He said that his city is looking forward to work closely with its Turkish sister city, Şanlıurfa, to strengthen the people-to-people ties.
Ambassador Berk Baran, on his part, reminded that the relations between Ethiopia and Turkiye spans more than a century. He also further reminded that the relation of the two countries is built on good friendship.
The Turkish ambassador noted that Ethiopia and Turkiye are also great economic partners.
