Sec. General calls for actions to address root causes of child labour in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, June 13, 2023 (FBC) – On World Day Against Child Labour, Abdurahiman Kubsa, First Secretary General of the Confederation of Ethiopian Employers’ Federation stressed the need for a joint effort to end child labour in Ethiopia.
Depending on the status of families the issues of Child Labour is everywhere including rural and city areas, the First Secretary General said adding that boosting economic development is crucial along with raising awareness where the government needs to give due attention.
Regarding the role of employers to end Child Labour he said that employers should be abide by the proclamation that clearly states the age and condition of Child Labour.
He added that they also have a shared responsibility to create awareness about Child labor.
First Secretary General of the Confederation of Ethiopian Employers’ Federation, Abdurahiman Kubsa, finally called on for concerted actions among all key stakeholders in Ethiopia to address the root causes of child labour and ensure social justice for all working children and their families.
