City administration not eyeing to ban daily activities due to COVID19: Deputy Mayor
Addis Ababa, April 4, 2020 (FBC) –Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa city, Engineer Takele Uma, said daily activities will not be banned due to coronavirus (COVID19).
Normal daily routines will continue, including taxi services, he said during a briefing on the measures being taken to halt the spread of the virus in the city.
He said the city administration is undertaking various precautionary and containment measures.
Ethiopia has so far 35 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with three recoveries and no fatalities.
More than 1.1 million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University.
Over 60,000 people have died and more than 230,000 have recovered, according to the university’s figures.
