Ethiopia, DRC seek to deepen bilateral ties in mutual priority areas
Addis Ababa, June 11, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are seeking to deepen their existing bilateral engagements in culture and people-to-people ties as well as at global venues.
The new Ethiopian Ambassador to DRC Fortuna Dibaco presented her letter of credentials to the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi.
During their discussion, Ambassador Fortuna expressed Ethiopia’s desire to deepen its bilateral ties, particularly in cultural and people-to-people spheres with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The AU-led tripartite negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) were hosted and facilitated by the President during his tenure as the African Union’s chairperson.
She commended the President for his extraordinary efforts and contributions in that regard, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
For his part, DRC President Félix Tshisekedi stated that his administration seeks to broaden its bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries at global venues.
