DPM & FM Demeke: High time for Ethiopia, Belarus to strive towards strengthening bilateral ties
Addis Ababa, May 16, 2023 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, this morning received at his office Ethiopia’s Honorary Consul in Belarus, Mr. Dmitry Lukashenko, of the Republic of Belarus.
Demeke welcomed the Honorary Consul to Addis Ababa and expressed the gratitude of the government of Ethiopia for representing Ethiopia and its people with passion and commitment in the Eastern European nation. He told the latter, “You are our ambassador to Belarus”.
He said it is high time that Ethiopia and Belarus strive towards strengthening bilateral ties, among others in the areas of investment, tourism, agricultural mechanization & mining. We will do our level best to enhance Ethio-Belarusian relations, Demeke told Lukashenko.
Mr. Lukashenko, on his part, thanked the DPM & FM for “graciously” hosting him. He vowed to further bolster the historical relations between the two countries.
He also commended the recent developments and positive changes in Addis Ababa.
