IPDC earns $121.9ml in nine months from foreign trade exports
Addis Ababa, May 2, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) has announced that it has earned more than 121.9 million USD from foreign trade exports in the last 9 months.
Industrial Parks Development Corporation is reviewing the 2015 fiscal year 9 months plan performance in Jimma City.
It was stated in the forum that the corporation has managed to get 121.9 million USD out of the 156 million US dollars that it planned to earn by exporting products.
In terms of import substitution, IPDC has been able to create sustainable market links for more than 100,000 farmers in only Bole Lemi, Debre Birhan and Jimma Industrial Parks in the last 9 months.
IPDC’s effective coordination with the universities and agricultural research centers where the industrial parks are located enabled farmers to create sustainable market links, and also got the best seed supply, skills and additional advisory services, IPDC has stated.
It is also stated that more than 36,800 citizens have got job opportunities in 11 industrial parks and Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone.
