MFA State Minister discusses with Head of Russia-Africa Partnership Forum

Addis Ababa, April 25, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, received Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-large and Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, at his office today.

Ambassador Mesganu expressed the gratitude of the People and Government of Ethiopia through Mr. Ozerov to the People and Government of Russia during Ethiopia’s difficult times.

He reiterated Ethiopia’s continued commitment to further deepen multifaceted Ethiopia-Russia relations.

The State Minister thanked Mr. Ozerov for gracing the “Enough with War – Let’s Celebrate Peace” ceremony that heralded a new era of peace in Ethiopia.

He said development and poverty reduction are priorities of the Ethiopian government after cementing the hard-earned peace and stability in the country.

Mr. Ozerov, on the other hand, briefed the state minister on the preparations for the upcoming Russia-Africa Summit due to be held in the Russian Federation (25–31 July 2023).

He also reiterated Russia’s affirmation of the “African Solutions to African Problems” maxim that brought peace and stability to Ethiopia and could be emulated somewhere else in Africa.
