Ethio-Korea Investment Forum held in Seoul
Addis Ababa, April 18, 2023 (FBC) – The 2023 Ethio-Korea Investment Forum was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, under the theme of “It is time in Ethiopia”.
It is indicated that the forum aims to showcase the vast potential and opportunities available for Korean companies to invest in Ethiopia.
During the forum’s opening remarks, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to the Republic of Korea, Dessie Dalkie, highlighted the longstanding historical relationship between Ethiopia and South Korea.
He emphasized the significance of this relationship and its potential to be further strengthened through economic exchange.
The Ambassador also underlined that the availability of a wide range of incentives for foreign investors, as well as the undertaken economic reform, conducive macroeconomic policy environment, and improved infrastructure, all of which make Ethiopia the preferred foreign direct investment destination for Korean investors.
Daniel Teresa, the Ethiopian Investment Deputy Commissioner, presented the national economic and investment reform initiatives, as well as investment incentives to investors.
He stated that the current investment climate in Ethiopia is favorable, making it a perfect time for investors to invest in the country.
Dr. JOO Soryeong, Vice Chairman of the Korean Federation of Textile Industries, in her remarks, recalled the historical relationship between Ethiopia and South Korea.
She added that the association recognizes the great potential that exists in Ethiopia, and they are committed to utilizing these opportunities to benefit both countries.
It is learned that more than 120 Korean investors and corporate leaders attended the forum to explore the abundant investment potentials in Ethiopia. While the first day of the forum was held in Seoul, the second day of the forum will take place in Busan, second big city in the Republic of Korea.
