Ethiopia-U.S. Business, Investment Forum being held in Washington, D.C
Addis Ababa, April 12, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethio-U.S. Business and Investment Forum is being held at the United States Council on Foreign Relations.
At the forum, Ethiopia’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide and Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) Commissioner, Lelise Nemie, made opening keynotes and presentation on business opportunities in Ethiopia.
The forum brought together about 100 government and private sector actors from the two countries, FBC sources confirmed.
It was also stated that the round table from prominent institutions, banks and finance, and investment enablers like EIC and MoFA Ethiopia made important discussion further revealed various programs and mechanisms for FDI
At the event, it is noted that investors have shown interest to engage in Ethiopia in the manufacturing, agriculture, mining, information communication, tourism, health, energy and trade sectors.
The participants of the forum also called on the U.S. to reinstate Ethiopia into AGOA.
The event is co-organized by Ethiopian Embassy in Washington, CCA, and WaFA.
