Ethiopia to host ECA’s 55th annual conference of African Ministers next week

Addis Ababa, March 6, 2023 (FBC) – The Fifty-fifth session of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from March 15 to 21, 2023.

The annual Conference of Ministers (COM) is expected to bring together ministers of finance, planning and economic development, as well as policy makers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders from across Africa.

It is stated that the theme of the fifty-fifth session of the Commission will be “Fostering recovery and transformation in Africa to reduce inequalities and vulnerabilities”.

According to UNECA, the aim of this year’s conference is to renew focus and action on reducing poverty, inequality and other factors that leave the African population continuously vulnerable to these scourges.
