MFA State Minister confers with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs

Addis Ababa, February 18, 2023 (FBC) – Foreign Affairs State Minister Mesganu Arga conferred with Mary Catherine Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs of the United States this afternoon. They discussed ways to further strengthen Ethiopia-US relations.

State Minister Mesganu briefed the Assistant Secretary about the continued rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in Northern Ethiopia following the signing of the Pretoria Peace Agreement. He said tremendous strides have been made in the implementation of the agreement.

The Assistant Secretary also expressed USA’s interest to further expand the multifaceted bilateral relations with Ethiopia. “Our partnership with Ethiopia is very important to us,” she said.
