Japan affirms continued support for the success of the national dialogue
Addis Ababa, December 26, 2022 (FBC) – Japan’s ambassador to Ethiopia, Ito Takako, reiterated that Japan will continue its support for the success of Ethiopia’s national dialogue.
The Japanese government handed over Addis Ababa University with two vehicles worth more than 7 million Birr to be used for the national dialogue.
On the handing over ceremony, Ambassador Ito Takako stated that her government is providing support through implementing various projects that contribute to Ethiopia’s sustainable development, which she affirmed will continue to be strengthened by the government of Japan.
The Ambassador expressed Japan’s readiness to support efforts to create national understanding and lasting peace in Ethiopia by involving all sections of the society in the national dialogue.
Furthermore, Ambassador Ito said the handed over vehicles will be used by the national dialogue commission and the community members participating in dialogues.
President of Addis Ababa University, Prof. Tasew Wolde-Hana, thanked the Japanese government for its support to Ethiopia in various fields.
He stated that Japan’s support for the national dialogue is of great importance, adding that the university will continue to do its part for the success of the national dialogue.
