Amb. Demitu discusses with representatives of diaspora organizations in Rome
Addis Ababa, November 20, 2022 (FBC) – Demitu Hambisa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to FAO, IFAD and WFP, Ambassador to Italy, held discussions on various issues with representatives of various diaspora organizations in Rome.
The discussion was mainly focused on current national issues, especially the peace accord to end the war in the northern part of our country.
According to the Ethiopian Embassy in Rome, the discussion was also aimed at thanking the organisations for their continued contribution to Ethiopia on numerous occasions.
The Ambassador explained the determination of the government to honor and implement the peace agreement, the cooperation of all parties to rebuild the damaged infrastructure, and accelerate the development of the country.
In addition, Ambassador Demitu expressed her gratitude and respect for the multi-faceted support that members of the diaspora community has provided to the country so far, hoping that they will continue to do so in the future.
She also called on the Diaspora associations to strengthen their continued support to stamp their marks on the development of Ethiopia in the future.
The participants of the discussion said that “there is no child who refuses to visit his/her mother when she is sick.”
They reiterated readiness to stand by Ethiopia’s side in its next journey, pledging to contribute their part to the development endeavors of the country.
