ATA Oromia region center wins Heineken Ethiopia Global Supply Chain 2022 Award

Addis Ababa, November 14, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute Oromia Regional Centre won the Global Supply Chain Award 2022 of Heineken Ethiopia for playing a pivotal role in connecting #cluster farmers to produce and supply malt barley.

More than 60,000 malt barley cluster farmers in Arsi and Shoa areas have been working closely with agro-processors such as Soufflet and Boortmalt Ethiopia Malting Companies which supply malt to breweries such as Heineken.

As part of its mandate and adopting value chain approach, the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute has been instrumental in attracting and supporting the private sector agro-investments creating market opportunities and technology transfers to farmers thereby ensuring reliable quality grain supplies, as per the Institute.
