Pan African Youth Forum participants visit Ethiopian Federal Police tech reforms
Addis Ababa, November 2, 2022, (FBC) – Participants of the first-ever African Youth Leaders Forum from 42 African countries visited the Ethiopian Federal Police HQ in Addis Ababa.
These African prospects were welcomed by the Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner, General Demelash Gebre-Michael and his staff at the HQ.
The Pan-African Youth Forum participants toured the modern technological reforms of the Ethiopian Federal Police.
Commissioner General Demelash Gebre-Michael stated that the late South African leader and icon of the African freedom struggle, Nelson Mandela, was trained at the Kolfe Police Training Center in 1962 when he fought to overthrow the apartheid regime..
He explained that Police is implementing data-driven community policing service models by including the role of Ethiopian youth in the society in its ten-year strategic plan.
The Commissioner also stressed that the youth is the driving engine for peace and stability in Ethiopia which is playing a major part in supporting the mission of the Ethiopian Federal Police.
In addition, General Demelash announced that Ethiopia is set to host the 24th East African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) conference in December, in Addis Ababa.
At the conclusion of the visit, the participants of the Pan African Youth Forum praised the technological acquisition of the Ethiopian Federal Police, insisting that it should be a reference to other countries.
